Panattoni hands over another logistics property to Dachser

Panattoni, the leading project developer for industrial and logistics real estates in Europe, handed over another logistics facility to Dachser SE, the international logistics company with headquarters in Kempten, in February 2021. Panattoni completed the built-to-suit project over a construction period of about eight months in the dynamically growing logistics region of Magdeburg, Saxony-Anhalt in Germany. Panattoni has now developed a total of six logistics properties for Dachser from 2015 to 2021. The new sites are located in Germany in Überherrn, Erlensee, Aachen, Öhringen, and Alsdorf.

A new location has now been established in Magdeburg Gewerbegebiet Nord, an industrial zone to the north of the city with excellent connections to the A2 and A14 autobahns. Panattoni has also invested in construction of an outer access road for the site. Earthworks began in May 2020. By the beginning of January 2021, Dachser was ready to put approx. 10,000 m² of logistics space into operation. The handover was completed in February.

Dachser is using the new centre to handle the logistics of warehousing and distribution services for renowned regional and global producers and distributors of industrial goods, as well as DIY articles and, in one hall, services for customers in the food industry. A total floor space of approx. 40,000 m² spreads over two terminals with a height of 12.2 m; the first terminal covers approx. 32,000 m², while the second offers approx. 8,000 m². The property was constructed in line with Panattoni’s high quality standards and has been certified in accordance with the DGNB Gold Standard. It also features intelligent racking aisle lighting with LED technology.

With the inland port in the immediate vicinity, a large proportion of the stored goods can be transported almost all the way to the warehouse by water. Not only is Dachser significantly relieving the load on the regional and transregional road network in doing so, it is once again proving that local transport infrastructure can be used intelligently in the interests of customers, communities and the environment. The demanding process of preparing and implementing this project required a reliable and experienced partner.
