Panattoni Europe is to develop a modern logistics complex on a site of 24,000 square metres in the Überherrn industrial area.
Logistics real estate developer Panattoni Europe has been awarded a contract to develop a new logistics complex for Dachser in Überherrn in Saarland. The complex will be built on a site of approx. 24,000 square metres and have a usable floor area of 11,130 square metres comprising 10,530 square metres of warehousing and 600 square metres of office space. Construction work will begin in June and completion of the entire facility is scheduled for the end of October this year.
Dachser is a long-term tenant and the new facility will add a further warehouse to the company’s already existing logistics centre in Saarland. It will enable the logistics group to expand its range of services in this location to include contract logistics, the efficient co-ordination of transport, warehousing and value-added services. What makes development of the logistics centre in this location particularly attractive is Saarland’s geographical position at the interface between Germany and France. The Häsfeld industrial estate in Überherrn is one of the largest commercial and industrial parks in Saarland and the entire border region. The construction of the new B 269 / RN 33 provides an ideal traffic connection to the German and French motorway networks.
“After completing a logistics facility for Dachser in Öhringen in Baden-Württemberg last year,
we are very proud to have been commissioned to build another facility for this company,” says Fred-Markus Bohne, Managing Partner of Panattoni Europe. The building is designed so that it can be extended to provide a further 20,000 m² of hall space.
