Panattoni Europe has started a new warehouse for Dachser in Alsdorf

Panattoni Europe, the leading project developer of industrial and logistics properties in Europe, is building some 7,071 m2 of hall space, as well as office and social areas, for international logistics services provider Dachser. Construction of the new property began in October 2018 at a site not far from the existing Dachser Maas-Rhein logistics centre in Alsdorf near Aachen.

With this user-specific property, Panattoni is striving for sustainable construction in accordance with the gold standard of the German Sustainable Building Council (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Nachhaltiges Bauen – DGNB). Dachser will put the planned logistics hall into operation in June 2019. Following the success of completed works in Überherrn, Erlensee and Öhringen, this new building will be the fourth project that Dachser has undertaken in collaboration with Panattoni.

Alsdorf near Aachen offers good transport links to the Ruhr region and the Netherlands. In addition, the new construction, located in Konrad-Zuse-Strasse, is only four kilometres away from the existing Dachser Maas-Rhein logistics centre. The consulting firm Logivest, which specialises in logistics properties, acted as intermediary.

Thomas Burger, Department Head Real Estate at Dachser, describes the benefits of this user-specific property development: “The new construction will enable Dachser to expand its contract logistics business at this site. Panattoni is implementing this project according to our specific requirements. Panattoni has substantial experience in this area, and particularly in the development of user-specific built-to-suit projects such as this.
