- Neska moving into 10,000 m² warehouse and logistics space
- Logistics Park in the Port of Düsseldorf nearly fully let
Neska, Schifffahrts- und Speditionskontor GmbH, develops customer-oriented solutions for general cargo and bulk goods transhipment, as well as transport and warehouse tasks, nationally and internationally. In December 2017, Neska moved into a 10,500 m² logistics hall, with 600 m² of office space and a 600 m² mezzanine in the second construction phase of the logistics park developed by Panattoni in the Port of Düsseldorf.
Panattoni Europe, Europe’s leading project developer of industrial and logistics properties, finished the second construction phase of the area with 32,000 m² of modern logistics space in compliance with the DGNB Gold Standard in spring 2017. This brownfield site includes the development of an area of roughly 120,000 m². The logistics park offers a good location next to the container port and a connection for storage and logistics, as well as all conditions necessary for city logistics on the last mile.
Kai-Norman Knötsch, Authorised Signatory and Branch Manager at Neska, confirms, “The location at the Port of Düsseldorf offers an excellent connection, which enables an efficient transport chain by water and land. In addition, the modern logistics area and its sustainability standards at a complex brownfield development were very convincing.”
Following completion of the developed area at the Port of Düsseldorf, the project developer is also in charge of property management at the logistics centre, as well as leasing the second construction phase, in the course of which a unit was facilitated that was a perfect fit for Neska .
The first construction phase was already filled by logistics service provider BLG in 2016.
Another newly created unit with 10,500 m², plus office space and social areas, went to a large online retailer. For the third unit of the second construction phase of the same size, talks are currently ongoing with interested users.
Fred-Markus Bohne, Managing Partner at Panattoni Europe, gives a positive summary of the complex brownfield project, “Here all parties worked together very constructively to put this area near the city centre to an appropriate use and to create urgently needed logistics space with the best transport connections. We are delighted that, thanks to the advantages of this site, we have been able to attract well-known tenants.”
