- After MT Deutschland another industrial company becomes a tenant at Panattoni Park Voerde
- Project with a total floor space of approx. 66,800 m2 is being developed on 112,000 m2 of brownfield land close to the economic hubs of Duisburg and the Lower Rhine
- 30,000 m2 still available
Panattoni, the leading project developer for industrial and logistics real estate in Europe, has rented out another 11,200 m2 in its Panattoni Park in Voerde, North Rhine-Westphalia. The future user is Flender. The company, based in Bocholt, is a leading international manufacturer of mechanical and electrical drive systems with a broad range of gearboxes, clutches, generators and associated services. The product portfolio focuses on key industries such as the wind industry, cement, raw material processing, oil and gas, energy generation, water and wastewater, marine, cranes and materials handling.
Flender has acquired a total space of around 11,200 m2 in Hall 1 of the Panattoni Park, of which approx. 9,850 m2 will be hall space, 550 m2 office space and 800 m2 mezzanine space. On top of that, there are car and lorry parking spaces in the outside area as well as an awning for lorries. Within the scope of project development, Panattoni is laying the groundwork for a high floor loading capacity – which, at roughly 250 KN/m2, will allow forklift trucks with a total weight of up to 40 t to be used in the halls. This will allow the tenants to store components for wind turbine gearboxes. With these new spaces, the manufacturing company is expanding its existing site in Voerde.
Flender Group CEO Andreas Evertz had the following to say about the rental: “I am delighted that we can now centralise our logistics activities with this new hall, bringing us closer to our goal of being completely CO2-neutral by 2030. These new warehouse spaces will allow us to make our logistics processes more sustainable and thus considerably reduce current transport distances and the associated CO2 emissions.”
The Panattoni Park is being constructed on 112,000 m2 of brownfield land and has a total floor space of 66,800 m2 divided between two separate buildings. This indoor area will consist of roughly 61,700 m2 of logistics space, 2,700 m2 of office and social space, and 5,100 m2 of mezzanine space. Hall 2 has been rented entirely by MT Deutschland and will be occupied on 25/11/2021. In Hall 1, there is still 30,000 m2 available to rent.
Panattoni is aiming for the gold standard of the German Sustainable Building Council as part of its sustainable and resource-efficient development concept. Furthermore, the roof surfaces of Hall 1 will be fitted with solar panels in order to generate low-emission energy.
The facility is located within close proximity of the economic and logistics hub of Duisburg and the Lower Rhine and boasts excellent links to the inland ports along the Rhine as well as quick and direct access to the A3, A59 and A57 federal autobahns. In addition, the Dutch border is just a stone’s throw away.
“With Flender, we are welcoming a regional manufacturer who has set themselves up perfectly for further growth with the expansion of their site and the new spaces. The Panattoni Park is in the heart of a strong economic region and is ideally connected to multiple transport routes,” says Fred-Markus Bohne, Managing Partner at Panattoni.
Construction of Hall 1 will begin in November 2021, and handover to Flender has been arranged for August 2022.
The brokerage firms Realogis Holding GmbH and Colliers International Deutschland GmbH were responsible for marketing the Panattoni Park Voerde.
