Construction begins at Panattoni Park Ennshafen: New milestone reached in Austria

Work is now underway to construct a new commercial, industrial and logistics park at the meeting of the Danube and the Enns. Panattoni Park Ennshafen is the project developer’s second project in Austria. On 30 April, numerous visitors and guests of honour gathered for a ground-breaking ceremony, as Panattoni celebrated the start of construction in Enns.

The new commercial, industrial and logistics park in Enns is under construction on a roughly 65,000 m² site in Ennshafen industrial estate, not far from Linz. Comprising a gross floor area of approx. 41,000 m², the premises will offer variably divisible rental units from 2,550 m², making it an ideal site for local businesses. Panattoni Park Ennshafen will enjoy connections to numerous economic centres across Europe through access to the Rhine-Main-Danube Canal, the rail network via a nearby container terminal, the B1 federal road and the A1 western motorway.

“We believe that Enns has considerable potential for economic growth,” said Jürgen Winklbauer, Managing Director of Panattoni Austria. “The tri-modal connections and strategically favourable proximity to major automotive corporations are very attractive prospects for companies of different sizes.”

Markus Achleitner, Upper Austrian State Councillor for Economic Affairs, added: “The Ennshafen industrial zone is among the leading locations in Upper Austria. The new Panattoni Park will further reinforce this. A 110 kV cable running across the site is a complicating factor in development of the site, which makes it all the more pleasing that Panattoni is rendering the site suitable for companies to settle. Above all, companies with activities in metal and steel processing, food processing, automotive construction, chemicals and transport stand to benefit from the proximity to Linz and the site’s high-quality premises.”

Panattoni is realising the project in line with state-of-the-art sustainability standards. The project developer has targeted Gold certification from the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) for the project. This aspect has impressed Christian Deleja-Hotko, Mayor of Enns: “Panattoni Park is an example of successful collaboration between a municipal authority and a project developer, conducted on equal terms. As the town of Enns, we set high standards in relation to sustainability and climate protection, which Panattoni has met with its project.”

The land was acquired in collaboration with Business Upper Austria – OÖ Wirtschaftsagentur GmbH. The project is being implemented in partnership with a general contractor, Goldbeck Rhomberg. The premises will be marketed by the property consultancy firm EUREA Real Estate GmbH.
