Panattoni expands location for Dachser in Überherrn

Logistics real estate developer Panattoni Europe has completed the second building phase of a logistics facility located in Überherrn in Saarland within six months and handed it over to Dachser. Panattoni already built a logistics complex for Dachser with 11,193 square metres in 2016. This complex has now been extended by a hall with an area of 19,156 square metres including recreational and office areas.

Expansion of location for contract logistics

The project developer for industrial and commercial real estate designed the project from the outset to allow a possible extension of the first building phase by approximately 20,000 square metres of hall space. A logistics centre in this location is particularly attractive because of Saarland’s geographical position at the interface between Germany and France. Furthermore, its proximity to the B 269 / RN 33 provides an ideal traffic connection to the German and French motorway networks. The Häsfeld industrial estate in Überherrn is one of the largest commercial and industrial parks in Saarland and the entire border region.

Dachser is the long-term tenant and with this second building plans to expand its location for contract logistics. Thomas Hörmann, Head of Construction & Real Estate at Dachser, explains the potential of this measure: “In Überherrn we have now expanded our space for contract logistics by 20,000 square metres to a total of 62,000 square metres. This will enable us to provide an even more efficient combination of transport, warehousing and value-added services in this location. This project has again shown that the long-term co-operation with Panattoni is based on competence and reliability on both sides.”
