The industrial and logistics property developer, Panattoni, and the full-service pharma service provider, MSK Pharma Group, have broken ground on another logistics project in Bensheim. Participants in the event included guests from the politics and economy sectors, including Christine Klein, Mayor of the City of Bensheim, Christian Engelhardt, District Administrator of the District of Bergstraße, and Simon Heß, Managing Shareholder of MSK Pharma Group. The object, with a total of 22,700 square metres of space, will be designed as a build-to-suit site, customised for the requirements of pharmaceutical logistics. MSK Pharma Group also plans to relocate its headquarters and production from Heppenheim to Bensheim.
The site will be built on a former office building site which has been largely unused for several years now. The existing buildings will be demolished to make room for MSK Pharma Group’s new company headquarters and transform the site to serve a new purpose.
The construction project is the third and also the largest joint development specially designed for the requirements of MSK’s pharmaceutical logistics. The highest hygiene standards apply to the production, packaging and storage of pharmaceuticals and healthcare products. To ensure product quality, in particular for temperature-sensitive products, qualified and controlled conditions are required which ensure continuous monitoring and compliance with the defined temperature ranges in accordance with GMP and GDP guidelines.
An office courtyard which, with the rooftop terrace and a connected well-being area with a padel tennis court, increases the quality of life at the site.
Mayor Christine Klein explains, “MSK Pharma Group already makes an important contribution towards the city’s economy with its two current sites in Bensheim. We are pleased that this regional, rapidly growing company is now moving its headquarters here, too. We are pleased that we are able to revive a barely used office site.”
Simon Heß, Managing Shareholder at MSK Pharma Group, says, “As a full-service provider in the pharma sector, we bear a lot of responsibility. With MSK Bensheim III, we are targetedly investing in integrated structures that offer our customers security, scalability and reliability across the entire value creation chain. Particularly in a time rife with crises, we are consciously creating the basis for growth, supply security and a strong pharma site in Germany and Europe.”
Christian Engelhardt, District Administrator of the Bergstraße district, welcomes MSK’s expansion: “Economic development in the district creates the basis for our high quality of life. In that sense, I am delighted to see the MSK Pharma Group growing in Bensheim. The steps taken during the construction of the new site to ensure the well-being of staff are a great example of how this works in practice.”
Fred-Markus Bohne, Managing Partner at Panattoni DACH & Nordics, says, “The demands of pharmaceuticals logistics with regard to hall equipment and process safety are extremely high. Now, with the gapless refrigeration chain monitoring, systematic documentation and the complete avoidance of any contamination, the regulatory specifications will be met. We are therefore even more pleased about the trust MSK Pharma Group has placed in us for the third time now, to develop a build-to-suit site specially customised for its needs.
