Panattoni, the leading project developer for industrial and logistics real estate in Europe, opened its new branch office in Berlin on 1 December 2021. With its fifth location in Germany, the developer is pursuing its growth strategy and acknowledging the importance of Berlin-Brandenburg as an economic hub. The new offices are located in the “City Dock Spandau” business park developed by Panattoni themselves.
Following on from their existing branches in Hamburg, Düsseldorf, Mannheim and Munich, Panattoni opened a branch in Berlin on 01/12/2021.
The new office spaces totalling 200 m² are located in City Dock Spandau, which was created by the developer themselves. These innovative business parks provide commercial and office spaces in city locations and with excellent links to the urban infrastructure. Panattoni is sharing the City Dock in Berlin with existing tenants TIER Mobility, Kindsgut, Hennig Fahrzeugteile, Obeta and other users. The new four-person team will be joined by its own project management department, which has been moved from the company’s Hamburg location.
With the establishment of this new branch, Panattoni is pursuing its growth strategy on the German market. Indeed, according to the study “Logistics and Real estate” by bulwiengesa – the largest independent analysis company in the European real estate industry – Panattoni has been the most active developer of logistics facilities on the German market in 2021. On top of that, in May 2021, Panattoni took first place in the ranking of the largest European developers published by the specialist magazine PropertyEU for the fifth time in a row.
The special importance of Berlin-Brandenburg as an economic hub also played a role in the decision to settle there. Panattoni already operates several extensive logistics and business parks in the region, including Panattoni Park Berlin South, the Microvast Europazentrale in Berlin Ludwigsfelde, and three City Docks in Berlin Spandau, Falkensee and Marzahn. The latter combines the two types of park – business and logistics – for the very first time, thus opening the door to providers of more intensive logistics services that go beyond last-mile delivery.
“Due to its attractive location and economic importance, Berlin is one of the European metropolises with the brightest future prospects and it is one of Panattoni’s key markets. The Berlin market constantly breaks new records when it comes to space and leasing turnover, and the user groups of production, trade and logistics are all well represented. Always maintaining a local focus in our activities and project developments is part of our DNA here at Panattoni. In the case of Berlin and its dynamic market, it therefore makes perfect sense for us to establish our own branch office, thus potentially setting ourselves up for further expansion,” says Fred-Markus Bohne, Managing Partner at Panattoni.
