- Logistics park in Wörrstadt achieves full occupancy before construction is complete
- Premises impresses with prime location in the Rhine-Main region, a key logistics hotspot
- Handover scheduled for early 2021
Panattoni, the leading project developer of industrial and logistics properties in Europe, has secured full occupancy of Panattoni Park Frankfurt South long before the development is even complete. The future tenant of the 20,500m² logistics park in Wörrstadt, Rhineland Palatinate, is international full-service provider Hellmann Worldwide Logistics SE & Co. KG, based in Osnabrück.
The site, which measures approx. 37,600m², will offer the family-operated transport and logistics company 18,134m² of logistics space, 770m² of office space and 1,540m² of mezzanine space. In the interests of sustainable and resource-conserving construction, Panattoni is striving to achieve the Gold Standard of the DGNB (German Sustainable Building Council) for the development.
Hellmann will use the premises to process contract logistics services for customers in the industrial sector. With its excellent location in the Rhine-Main area, a logistics hotspot, the site in Wörrstadt is particularly well suited. “The opening of the contract logistics site in Wörrstadt will further boost our growth course in the Rhine-Main region, a key strategic area for us. We are looking forward to our new location in the vicinity of Frankfurt, which will meet state-of-the-art industry standards in all aspects,” explained Volker Sauerborn, COO of Contract Logistics at Hellmann.
The logistics premises enjoys excellent connections to several federal motorways, with the A63 just 500m away and the A61 only 8km from the logistics park, while federal road B420 is also just a few minutes’ drive away. What’s more, Frankfurt and Frankfurt-Hahn airports are less than an hour away by road, and several Benelux countries and France are no more than an hour’s journey by car.
“We are delighted that we have been able to achieve full occupancy at Panattoni Park Frankfurt South at such an early stage in the project. The development is situated in a dynamic region of strategic importance for the logistics sector. The new logistics centre and its future tenant will be a further boost to the region,” said Fred-Markus Bohne, Managing Partner of Panattoni.
Panattoni Park is set to be handed over to its future tenant, Hellmann, once the project has been completed in January 2021. Udo Brüggemann of projecta Consult für Industrie- und Gewerbeimmobilien GmbH, Frankfurt am Main, acted as mediating broker in the transaction.
