Foundation stone laying in Elsdorf: Noerpel and Panattoni give the starting signal for a 43,000 square metre logistics facility

The Noerpel Group is building a new logistics centre in Elsdorf in Lower Saxony together with the logistics real estate developer, Panattoni Europe. The foundation stone for the 43,000 square metre facility is being laid today by Stefan Noerpel-Schneider (Noerpel Group) and Fred-Markus Bohne (Panattoni Europe). By November, the largest single location of the Noerpel logistics company will be completed in the LogIn-Park Elsdorf, directly beside the A1 motorway between Hamburg and Bremen.

The Noerpel group has won a prestigious new customer for the new logistics centre: From Autumn 2017, the petroleum company BP will use about 25,000 square metres of the logistics facility. Noerpel performs warehousing, order picking and distribution services for the subsidiary company of BP, Castrol. Furthermore, existing customers in the south of Germany will benefit from the new Noerpel location as a distribution centre for the north of Germany. “The logistics centre in Elsdorf offers us and our customers ideal conditions,” says Stefan Noerpel-Schneider. “Multifunctional space, high-quality equipment and the good traffic connections make the location highly interesting for regional and national companies in the commercial and industrial sectors.” The new logistics facility will create about 100 new jobs and these positions will be filled mainly by qualified workers from the region.

High-quality logistics facility
The facility was designed by Panattoni Europe, a leading project developer for industrial and logistics real estate. Panattoni is also supervising the construction of the new building which will have a clearance height of 12.20 metres. The site in the LogIn Park Elsdorf was brokered by Süderelbe AG and the business development agency of the joint community of Zeven assisted to. The commercial real estate broker BNP liased between Panattoni and Noerpel. The entire facility will be built in compliance with the latest environmental and sustainability standards and is scheduled to be ready for occupancy in November 2017. Panattoni is aiming to win the DGNB gold award for the building. [DGNB: Deutsche Gesellschaft für Nachhaltiges Bauen – DGNB e.V., (German Sustainable Building Council)].

“We adapt to the specific requirements of our clients,” says Fred-Markus Bohne, Managing Partner of Panattoni Europe. “Thanks to precise planning and, very importantly, the good cooperation between all key parties involved, we will be able to complete this facility in only eight months.”

Foundation stone laying ceremony
About 60 guests will take part in the ceremony today – including political decision-makers, representatives of the regional economy, business associates of Noerpel and Panattoni as well as media representatives. After a welcoming speech by Andreas Bellmann, Mayor of Elsdorf, Fred-Markus Bohne and Stefan Noerpel-Schneider will address the guests. This will be followed by the joint laying of the foundation stone and the celebrations.

Sought-after location in the north
The LogIn Park Elsdorf offers ideal conditions as a logistics and commercial location. The 28 hectare park is situated halfway between the metropolitan regions of Hamburg and Bremen, with direct access to an A1 motorway junction. This location ensures very good traffic connections to the port of Hamburg and the Ruhr region. About five months after the official opening of the LogInPark Elsdorf, 73 percent of the area has already been marketed.
