Dachser trusts in Panattoni in uncertain times

• Panattoni to build another logistics centre for international logistics service provider Dachser
• Centre to feature around 40,000 m² of logistics space on the Magdeburg site
• Handover scheduled for December 2020

Panattoni, the leading project developer for industrial and logistics premises in Europe, is working on another project for Dachser, the international logistics service provider based in Kempten. The new logistics centre will be constructed on a site in Magdeburg and will be the sixth project in which Panattoni has developed premises for Dachser. Panattoni created a logistics centre for Dachser in Alsdorf, near Aachen, as recently as the summer of 2019.

Panattoni will erect two halls with combined total logistics space of approx. 40,000 m² on the Magdeburg site. The first hall will offer around 32,000 m² of logistics space and the second a further 8,000 m². The premises will also feature around 1,880 m² of office space and social areas. The building will have in excess of 64 loading gates and stand at a usable height of 12.2 m (to underside of roof truss). In the interests of adopting a resource-conserving and sustainable construction method, Panattoni aims to achieve the Gold Standard of the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) for the development. In addition, energy-saving LED lighting systems will be installed in the halls, office spaces and social areas.

Dachser plans to use the new premises to store and distribute products for the construction market. The centre will be constructed in the Gewerbegebiet Nord, an industrial zone to the north of Magdeburg, and will benefit from excellent access to the A 2 and A 14 federal autobahns. To ensure the premises has the best possible connections to existing road and public transport networks, Panattoni will also build an access road to the site.

Panattoni will commence earthworks in April 2020; the premises is scheduled to be handed over to Dachser in December 2020.
