Dachser is having a new logistics center developed by Panattoni in Landsberg

Panattoni is planning a modern build-to-suit (BTS) property in Landsberg, Saxony-Anhalt for the logistics service provider, Dachser. The new facility will help expand the business activities of the logistics company’s already existing branch. The company, which is incorporated in Kempten, is relying on the collaboration with Panattoni for the ninth time now.

With the new build-to-suit (BTS) property, the family-owned company, Dachser, is further expanding its site in Landsberg, Saxony-Anhalt. What is particularly significant here is the flexible development of the new facility because Dachser serves a wide variety of customers with individual requirements. Three of the four hall segments will be equipped with refrigeration which is specially intended for customers from the foodstuffs industry.

The service provider is relying on Panattoni for the development for the ninth time now. Only recently, a distribution center in Rottenburg am Neckar, Baden-Wuerttemberg, was completed in the record time of 6 months. 

The new site in Landsberg is one kilometre from the already existing building and stands out with its excellent connection to transregional routes: The A9 motorway is only a 6-minute drive from the B100 and the A14 only 10 minutes.

The new facility has around 18,000 m² of hall space and 1,400 m² of large office and social spaces. “With the new hall, we have the opportunity to expand our site in light of the workload and continue to be available to our customers with space-related resources. Moreover, thanks to the new property, we are creating new jobs which, in turn, makes the region more economically attractive,” says Thomas Burger, Head of Construction & Real Estate at Dachser.

Panattoni has set lofty goals with regards to sustainability in this project, too. The developer aims to obtain DGNB Gold certification for the facility. To this end, a photovoltaics system will be installed on the roof for auxiliary power. The start of construction is scheduled for November 2023 and completion is slated for September 2024.
