Panattoni develops for Barsan Global Logistik in Nuremberg

•          Expansion as sale & leaseback model
•          New-build with approx. 10,500 m² total floor space
•          8,200 m² of new space still up for grabs
•          Construction begins end of 2021 with completion scheduled for Q3 2022 

Panattoni, the leading project developer for industrial and logistics premises in Europe, is working on a new-build for international logistics provider Barsan Global Logistik GmbH in Nuremberg, Bavaria. The company, which is headquartered in Istanbul, Turkey, offers transport solutions, warehouse and distribution centre management, and customs and supply chain solutions. Within the scope of a sale and leaseback model, Barsan is selling its current premises and further expanding its site in Nuremberg by leasing back the existing premises and an additional new one.

The future building, which will consist of a mix of new and existing structures, is being developed on a plot measuring 30,600 m² and, once completed, will have three hall sections with a total logistics space of approx. 16,200 m², as well as 1,400 m² of office and social space and 600 m² of mezzanine space. The building will extend to a height of 10 m (to bottom of roof truss), with a max. floor load of 6 t/m². There will be a total of 74 car and 22 lorry parking spaces in the outside area.

In future, new and existing buildings will account for approx. 8,200 m² of rental space at Barsan. A third hall section with 8,200 m² of logistics space is being developed without prior rental agreements and is still available to potential tenants. The site is located in the Schmalau industrial estate in Nuremberg and is just a stone’s throw away from the A3 and A73 federal autobahns, providing excellent connections in all four cardinal directions. 

In the interest of sustainability, Panattoni is erecting charging points for electric cars and constructing a cycle path to the site in consultation with the municipality of Fürth. Solar panels have already been installed on the existing building, and the new building will have DGNB Gold certification.

The beginning of construction is set for the end of 2021 and completion is planned for October 2022.
