Real Digital will launch its main fulfillment centre for the German market in Cheb

Panattoni, market leader in industrial real estate in Europe, has provided the German online retailer Real Digital with its main fulfillment centre. Despite measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus, the first construction in the new Panattoni Park Cheb South had only a minimal delay of a few days. Last year, the 27,000 m² building was one of the largest new rental transactions in the Czech Republic. The project that came into being on the premises of the former Cheb engineering works aspires to a high rating in the latest standard of BREEAM certification. 

“We were drawn to Cheb not only because of its strategic location near the German border and the fact that the area was ready with guaranteed timing, but also by a desire for sustainable development. Thanks to the revitalisation of the brownfield, no arable land or any area in the open landscape had to be taken over here. Now we can see that we have chosen the right partners. The developer coped even in the complicated circumstances caused by the pandemic and thanks to CBRE’s commercial representation and project management during the preparation and implementation phase, the fulfillment centre meets all our requirements,” says Terry Rogers, Real Digital’s CEO.

The specialty of Panattoni Park Cheb South is its connection to the rich tradition of the former engineering works. Thanks to the new zone, industry is returning to places where it historically operated for a long time. Its predecessor Panattoni Park Cheb brought several important investors to the town and created over a thousand new jobs.
