The industrial zone developer Panattoni Europe has built a hall with the highest BREEAM 2016 certification in the Czech Republic so far. The company has earned a score of 78.2% of Excellent level for the DHL distribution centre, which will serve the US cosmetics manufacturer Estée Lauder Companies, surpassing not only its earlier construction, the Amazon distribution centre in Dobrovíz, but also all the existing constructions in the Czech Republic in the segment of industrial buildings, retail, offices and residential premises.
“The DHL distribution centre for Estée Lauder Companies is our fifth BREEAM 2016 certified building, and we are also very happy that it is the building with the highest score achieved in the Czech Republic. I am very proud of my team and I would also like to thank the general construction contractor HSF System for their great work and the DHL team for their great cooperation,” says Pavel Sovička, Panattoni Europe’s Managing Director for the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
The Estée Lauder Companies distribution centre achieved the highest certification score in the categories of waste management (100%), water efficiency (78%), energy (78%) and pollution (92%). The building was designed in line with DHL’s long-term plans and the GoGreen programme, whereby Deutsche Post DHL wants to reduce CO2 emissions to 0% by 2050 and to train 80% of its employees to become certified GoGreen specialists by 2025. The hall uses energy efficient LED lamps and smart control systems that reduce light emissions and power consumption.
Panattoni Europe has defended its position as the European industrial market leader this year. With last year being represented by expansions and relocations, the company has decided to continue with a courageous concept based on brownfield site revitalization and sustainable development. Panattoni Europe is a global trend-setter in turning brownfield sites into industrial premises.
