The multinational supermarket chain SPAR has leased 17,902 m², representing 50% of Panattoni Park Santarém.
Located on a 100,000 m² plot in the municipality of Santarém, the development comprises a multi-tenant warehouse with a gross lettable area of 35,700 m². This project adds to Panattoni’s developments in Porto Valongo, already completed, and Santa Iria de Azoia, currently under construction.
“It is with great pleasure that we welcome SPAR to Panattoni Park Santarém. Their choice demonstrates Panattoni’s ability to deliver next-generation logistics solutions,” said Gustavo Cardozo, Managing Director and Partner of Panattoni Iberia. “We are confident that this facility and its specifications will enable SPAR to ensure an agile and robust supply chain.”
Panattoni Park Santarém benefits from a strategic location with direct access to the A1 motorway, Portugal’s central axis, connecting Lisbon and Porto and passing through key cities such as Santarém, Leiria, Coimbra and Aveiro.
The asset comprises 33,000 m² of warehouse space and 1,344 m² of office space, including a 1,119.26 m² mezzanine, allowing the building to be divided into two modules of 17,900 m² each. The platform features a total of 48 loading bays, a 35-metre-deep yard, a clear height of 10.6 metres and an installed electrical capacity of 1,250 kW for the entire park.
In line with Panattoni’s sustainability standards, the project incorporates photovoltaic panels for self-consumption, rock wool insulation, LED lighting and meters connected to a BMS control system to optimise energy consumption. The BREEAM “Excellent” certification underlines the building’s efficiency, contributing to reduced operating costs and enhanced user wellbeing. In addition, the park provides 450 parking spaces, including areas for bicycles, HGVs and electric vehicles, as well as 8,800 m² of landscaped green areas.
With this addition, SPAR strengthens its logistics network in the food distribution sector, investing in modern, sustainable and highly efficient assets designed to support its long-term growth and operations.
