Panattoni, Europe’s leading logistics and industrial real estate developer, has been awarded the Saint-Gobain Sustainable Construction Award Spain 2025 in its 3rd Edition, thanks to the Panattoni Park Tarragona project in La Bisbal del Penedès, the largest private investment in the logistics real estate sector ever made in Catalonia.
This recognition, which comes as Panattoni celebrates its fifth anniversary on the Iberian Peninsula, aims to highlight projects and initiatives that promote more efficient and environmentally responsible construction while creating social value and engaging all stakeholders in the sector to foster innovative solutions.
“It is undoubtedly an honour for Panattoni to receive this award and to continue setting ourselves apart with our Panattoni Park Tarragona project in La Bisbal del Penedès, the largest private logistics real estate development in Catalonia, which has become a benchmark logistics hub in the region. Our thanks go to Saint-Gobain for their commitment to sustainability and to the jury for granting us this distinction in its third edition,” said Luis Miguel Vicente, Technical Director of Panattoni for Spain and Portugal.
A strategic location in Catalonia’s third logistics ring
The complex is strategically located in Barcelona’s third logistics ring, just 25 minutes from Tarragona and 45 minutes from Barcelona city. With excellent visibility and direct access to the AP-2 motorway, and close proximity to the AP-7, it represents an ideal location for companies requiring large, well-connected logistics hubs in Catalonia.
Over 145,000 sqm built to the highest quality standards
At the end of 2021, Panattoni acquired a plot from El Corte Inglés, which already housed an existing warehouse. Following this acquisition and a €145 million investment, the company identified the site’s potential to develop two additional large warehouses, expanding the complex to a total built area exceeding 145,000 sqm.
Today, the project consists of three buildings. The original warehouse (Warehouse A) offers a GLA of 40,414 sqm and is leased to NAEKO. Opposite stands Warehouse C, with 39,340 sqm, leased to GXO. Building B provides 66,430 sqm of GLA, with one module occupied by CEVA Logistics, while the remaining three modules (49,180 sqm) are still available. Demand for large-scale ‘big box’ warehouses remains strong, and Panattoni is currently in advanced negotiations with potential tenants interested in occupying the remaining space.
Features and sustainability commitment
Committed to sustainability, Panattoni has developed the project according to the highest environmental standards. The two new warehouses are BREEAM Very Good certified for sustainable construction, while the pre-existing building holds a BREEAM Excellent “In Use” certification.
Key sustainability features include:
- 100 kW solar panels
- Electric vehicle charging stations
- Energy Performance Certificate rating A for all office spaces
- Roof and façade insulation using Rockwool’s Rockycycle solution, which ensures the recovery and recycling of pallets and rock wool waste after use

Together, these measures have established Panattoni Park Tarragona as a model of sustainable, high-quality logistics development in Spain and across Europe.
