Panattoni Europe, industrial space leader, is implementing new advanced investments in Europe for one of the largest manufacturers of automotive parts ‒ Faurecia. In Poland, the developer has embarked on a 12,000-square-metre extension of the factory in Gorzów, where interior components for Volkswagen Amarok, Golf A7 and Mercedes S Class are made. In Bad Rappenau, Germany, construction works have started on a new logistics centre for the manufacturer, totalling 25,500 sqm of space.
Panattoni Europe's most recent projects prove that the automotive industry is growing not only in Poland, but in Europe, too. The developer has just embarked on two projects totalling 37,000 sqm of space for one of its existing customers - Faurecia - global leader specialising in manufacturing automotive parts. The project in Poland provides for an extension of the 17,600-square-metre manufacturing facility completed at the beginning of 2012 by an extra 12,000 sqm. The facility is located at the Kostrzyn-Słubice Special Economic Zone in Gorzów Wielkopolski and makes dashboards and other automotive parts.
" Faurecia Gorzów has been running its business at the KSSSE Zone since 2003, making vehicle interior components in two factories and employing more than two thousand people in total. In light of dynamic growth, new projects and highly regarded quality of the products made by Faurecia Gorzów, a decision was made to extend the Gorzów 2 Facility, which will lead to an increase in headcount by an extra 400 people by the end of 2017. In total, Faurecia employs more than seven thousand people across Poland in facilities located in Wałbrzych, Legnica, Jelcz-Laskowice, Grójec and Gorzów Wielkopolski", said Artur E. Zieleń - Operations Director FIS NEO²/ Operations Director FIS FAD.
In Germany, in turn, Panattoni Europe has started the construction of a logistics facility for Faurecia in Bad Rappenau, Baden-Württemberg, with direct access to the A6 motorway. From there, the company will manage the deliveries to its customers. To this end, out of the 25,000 sqm of space, 23,500 sqm will be earmarked for warehousing, and the remainder will be used as office space. Completion of construction works is planned for the coming August.
" Growth in the automotive sector also has an impact on Panattoni Europe's customers - businesses operating in this sector form an important group of tenants at our facilities. The wide range of solutions we offer appeals to manufacturers as well as distributors of car parts, and allows us to provide them with our knowledge and expertise in dedicated BTS facilities", said Marek Foryński, Head of BTS Group, Panattoni Europe.
To date, Panattoni Europe has developed more than 55,000 sqm of modern industrial space for Faurecia. In Poland, apart from the Gorzów facility mentioned above, there are 13,600 sqm in the Legnica SEZ. In the Czech Republic - 24,000 sqm near Pilsen. Each of the facilities was built to the tenant's specification - offering strategic location choices, firstly with regard to the well-developed road infrastructure, proximity of domestic customers and sales markets. Other essential elements included: access to a qualified labour pool, amount of investment outlay, availability of incentives dedicated to new investments, or full compatibility of the space with the customer's business profile.
