Hermes Fulfilment Logistics Center in Iłowa

This is the first OTTO Group investment in Poland and one of the largest and most advanced facilities in its entire portfolio. Our company was chosen for this project due to our extensive experience in executing large-scale projects, ensuring adherence to the highest construction standards.

Impressive Scale and Cutting-Edge Technology

The facility in Iłowa features a building area of 115,000 m², but with its multi-level mezzanines, it offers nearly 250,000 m² of usable space. The construction took less than two years and was completed in the first half of 2024. It is equipped with advanced sorting systems, including pouch sorters, automatic parcel sorters, and packing systems. Future plans include integrating robots for inspection and unloading tasks, which will further enhance operational efficiency and performance. The facility will handle nearly 80 million parcels annually, with potential for further increases.

Hermes Fulfilment will use this site to manage e-commerce orders for the OTTO Group. Initially, the facility will process orders primarily from Germany, but in the future, it is expected to expand its reach to Poland, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, and Italy. With optimized logistics processes, the goal is to deliver parcels to customers within 24 hours of order placement.

Key Location and Regional Impact

The Iłowa investment is a significant step not only for Panattoni and Hermes Fulfilment but also for the local community. The new facility will create approximately 3,000 jobs, with around 60% of these positions occupied by women. Located just 20 km from the German border, Iłowa offers excellent road connections and quick access to key markets. Its proximity to the German border and well-developed road infrastructure greatly enhance operational efficiency and logistics across the region.

Sustainable Development and Employee Wellbeing

The new facility will achieve DGNB Gold environmental certification. It features a photovoltaic installation and an advanced Building Management System (BMS), which will help reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions. In addition to advanced technologies, the facility also focuses on employee comfort. The office space is designed to high standards, offering relaxation and creative zones, accessibility features for people with disabilities, bike parking spaces, and electric vehicle charging points.
