Danfoss in Tuchom: When the Process Shapes the Design

Not every manufacturing facility can be built from a standard blueprint. For Danfoss, the starting point wasn't the building – it was the manufacturing process.

Throughout the project, the facility's layout was continuously refined to reflect the evolving manufacturing and internal logistics requirements. Close collaboration between the Panattoni BTS and Danfoss teams resulted in a facility tailored to the company's day-to-day operations while providing the flexibility to support future growth.

Today, the new facility serves as an integrated production and logistics hub supplying European markets.

Designed Around the Manufacturing Process

Every key feature of the facility was developed to support Danfoss' manufacturing operations.

One of the project's most technically demanding elements was the installation of a 40-ton overhead crane, engineered to operate both inside and outside the building footprint, enabling the efficient handling of oversized components.

The facility also features dedicated technical gas distribution systems required for the manufacturing process, as well as an energy-efficient heating, cooling and ventilation system based on heat pumps. A gas boiler plant serves solely as a backup heat source.

Production, Logistics and a Showroom Under One Roof

The new facility brings together manufacturing, warehousing and office functions within a single, integrated operation.

In addition to the production and warehouse space, the project includes 3,500 sqm of office and staff facilities, along with a showroom directly connected to the production area. This allows finished products to be transferred seamlessly from the factory floor to the exhibition space, where they can be showcased to customers and business partners.

The new facility employs around 500 people and is now home to the production of district heating substations, providing Danfoss with a manufacturing environment designed to support the company's continued growth.

A Partnership That Continues

The Tuchom project marks another milestone in the long-standing collaboration between Panattoni BTS and Danfoss.

In 2022, we delivered Danfoss' first low-emission manufacturing facility worldwide in Grodzisk Mazowiecki. Four years later, we partnered once again to create another purpose-built facility, designed from the ground up around the client's manufacturing processes.
