The production and business centre built for Danfoss by Panattoni in Grodzisk Mazowiecki is a 13,000 sqm building complex. It was built within the company's existing campus, supporting the relocation of production from Denmark to Poland.

Danfoss Poland is the Polish subsidiary of the Danish manufacturer of energy-efficient components and technology solutions for refrigeration, air conditioning and heating. Their products drive ecological change in hundreds of companies. Therefore, the new factory had to be one hundred per cent in line with the direction Danfoss is setting not only for its business partners, but also for itself: it is the first Danfoss facility in the world to be characterised by carbon neutrality at an operational level.

The new plant produces, among other things, energy-efficient valves for industrial and commercial refrigeration systems or solenoid valves for various tap water applications.  The manufacturing section accounts for 7200 sqm, with a further 2,000 sqm dedicated to office, laboratory and staff facilities, 2,000 sqm for a warehouse and 1,200 sqm for a technical building. The facility has been equipped with advanced automation and robotics technologies.

The project was extremely demanding for Panattoni. The construction work could not adversely affect the operation of the company's neighbouring factory and had to allow continuity of production while relocating 45 production lines from the plant in Denmark.

The basis for achieving climate neutrality were energy efficiency measures, heat recovery and a switch to renewable energy sources. All heating, cooling and ventilation systems and production machinery are powered by green electricity and no energy is wasted.

Danfoss solutions are used throughout the facility. The cooling and heat recovery process is automated and optimises the plant's operation according to the season. The factory exceeds the Polish WT2021 standard for energy efficiency in buildings, and the solutions used in the facility allow heat recovery from production processes. The ventilation system with recuperation in the production hall collects heat and reuses it for heating the buildings and water. In addition, heat is also recovered from the chillers and air compressors, so that the halls and offices can be heated efficiently and water can be used for process heat or service hot water. In addition, we have installed heat pumps and electric boilers to cover heat and energy needs during peak periods such as winter.

All heating, cooling and ventilation systems, as well as all production machinery, are powered exclusively by renewable electricity. Danfoss works with a supplier whose mix consists of 100 per cent RES. In addition, the roof structure is prepared for photovoltaic installation.

Almost 400 employees have been hired to work in the new production and business centre, making Danfoss one of the largest employers in Grodzisk Mazowiecki.
