Panattoni, the leading project developer for industrial and logistics properties in Europe, has announced that it is developing a new turnkey logistics project in the PLAZA industrial park in Zaragoza. The development is being carried out on a 47,200 square meters plot of land with 9,200 square meters of gross leasable area that Panattoni acquired last November. The building will be distributed over two floors, with a 6,600 square meters building on the lower floor and 2,500 square meters of office space on the upper floor. The expected delivery date is set for October 2021.
Panattoni continues with its growth policy in the Spanish geography. Located in the PLAZA industrial park in Zaragoza, it counts with a key location with direct access from the A-2, providing very good connections to the Spanish highway network. In addition, it is an industrial park of reference in the sector that has several high-level clients such as Inditex or BSH, among others.
The first project in Aragon will feature state-of-the-art innovations and meet the highest quality standards, so that it will be adapted to the needs of the "Last Mille" logistics, so booming due to e-Commerce, and designed under a 'cross docking' model. The building will have 9 loading and unloading docks that will allow both trucks and delivery vans to operate comfortably and quickly. The rest of the undeveloped land will be used for the development of a large parking lot for the allocation and delivery of orders, in order to meet the needs of last-mile logistics. The building will also have BREEAM "Very good" energy certification, an aspect that is becoming increasingly important in its logistics developments and applies the same policy that its Lean & Green Plan to reduce emissions in its logistics chain by 20% over the next five years.
"We are proud to be able to continue expanding our presence in Spain with this turnkey project in Zaragoza, with which we continue to demonstrate the quality of our developments" has claimed Gustavo Cardozo, Panattoni's Managing Director for Spain and Portugal. "The scarce availability of logistics facilities in this area, together with the great demand driven by e-Commerce, is allowing us to develop state-of-the-art warehouses tailored to our customers and very focused on the last mile model, which is increasing its demand in our country during this last year.”
