The first tenant of the new industrial zone near Nýřany will be Shape Corp.

The state-of-the-art facility will meet the stringent requirements under the BREEAM New Construction environmental certification and will feature a number of green and sustainable features. The project is set to install photovoltaic panels on the roof of the building and will use rainwater for flushing. A carbon footprint is being calculated from the start of construction so that the investor can minimise the impact on climate change.

The brownfield site near Nýřany boasts a rich industrial history. More than 150 years ago, the Krimich mine opened here - the deepest coal mine in its time in the West Bohemian coalfield. In the 1920s, Škoda built a thermal power plant here, which supplied its engineering plants in Pilsen, the town of Nýřany and the nearby munitions factory. During the 1950s and 1960s, a concrete plant of the Prefa company was located on the land. After the plant ceased operation in the 1950s and the shaft was closed in 1971, the area was converted into the Likona Nýřany food processing plant, which operated until the 1990s.

"The construction boom in the Pilsen region fully demonstrates that the site's potential for industrial production and logistics is far from exhausted, especially for clients with higher added value. The region benefits from a rich industrial tradition, excellent transport infrastructure, a quality engineering base, the presence of a university and the geographical proximity to Germany. The new facility will thus complement our portfolio in the Pilsen region, which consists of the existing and under-construction industrial zones Panattoni Pilsen Digital Park, Panattoni Park Pilsen City and Panattoni Pilsen Park West," adds Jiří Zita, Commercial Director, Panattoni.
