At the end of 2020, the industrial zones builder Panattoni broke the threshold of twenty BREEAM certifications according to the latest standards and strengthened its position as the Czech leader in sustainable growth in industrial development. The Excellent and High Scores rating was first of all awarded to the building for TFS International at Panattoni Park Cheb and subsequently to the building for Raben Group at Panattoni Park Stříbro. With a total certified area of 537,410 m2, Panattoni has increased its lead in the BREEAM New Construction ranking by more than 60,000 m2.
“I am very pleased that our lead in sustainable development is now equivalent to three average-sized buildings. But I am even more than happy about this unofficial race that has started on the market among developers and tenants. A race that we all benefit from and most of all the environment. I myself am curious how far it will be possible to push the boundaries of sustainable and environmentally friendly development,” said Pavel Sovička, Panattoni’s Managing Director for the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Both halls, which Panattoni certified in the last quarter, are interesting for a number of sustainable elements. Eight types of certified sustainable building materials were used in the construction of the Raben Group hall near Stříbro. The airtightness test confirmed that it has excellent resistance to heat leakage. Compared to the standard solution, it was possible to reduce energy consumption by 52.4%, the carbon footprint by 60.7% and water consumption by 58.15%. The TFS International hall in Cheb excels with an advanced level of automation and robotics. In addition, the operation includes the recycling of clothes hangers, i.e. a circular economy in practice.
This year, Panattoni has certified a total of 6 buildings in the Czech Republic with a total area of 103 179 m2. The most significant achievement was the Real Digital hall at Panattoni Park Cheb South, which received the world’s highest score and was the only one in the Czech Republic to receive the BREEAM Outstanding mark. Currently, the developer is in the process of certifying several other projects, some of which hope to be given to a very high rating.
