Last year Panattoni Europe was again the most active industrial developer in the Czech Republic

Tchibo, KION Group, Assa Abloy, Raben Logistics, Sony DADC, Alutech Systems. In 2017 Panattoni Europe built new industrial spaces for all these prestigious companies. In so doing the leader on the European logistics and industrial real estate market strengthened its position as the most active industrial developer in the Czech Republic. The total area of production and logistics space built by Panattoni totalled an impressive 146 000 m2, which accounts for 23 % of the total Czech market. None of its competitors was able to achieve such a significant share. This is according to the latest data from the real estate and consulting company, 108 Agency.

“I don’t just want to praise our team for another great year. Instead, I would like to highlight the conditions on which our success is based. The Czech economy is in great shape and and we are able to provide services to our existing clients so well, that they are expanding with us in the Czech Republic. So it’s all the more important now that we don’t rest on our laurels and get ready for new challenges: especially the impending labour shortage in some regions and limited greenfield construction,” says Pavel Sovička, Managing Director of Panattoni Europe for the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

According to the report by the 108 Agency, a total of 636 000 m2 of industrial space was completed in the Czech Republic in 2017. The most active region was the Pilsen Region where altogether almost 200 000 m2 of production and logistics buildings were built. As usual, there was also a lot of development activity in Prague and the surrounding area where almost 172 000 m2 of industrial space was built.

Panattoni Europe has experienced a year of expansion and relocation. In Cheb, it completed the second phase of the construction of Tchibo’s largest distribution centre in Central and Eastern Europe. In Ostrov u Stříbra, it built a second production hall for KION Group, the European leader on the handling equipment market, and also a new smart factory for Assa Abloy, the global leader in intelligent locking solutions. It also built a new building for Sony DADC, a leading supplier of digital discs and digital services, and also helped move the Raben logistics company and Alutech Systems, a manufacturer of sectional doors and components for roller systems, to new industrial spaces.

"Last year, we created almost 1,000 new jobs. Of course, we do not see the greatest benefit in reducing unemployment, which is at a record minimum, but in wage growth and quality of work thanks to competition between employers. We are very pleased that in selected regions we can focus on areas with added value,” concludes Klára Sobotková, Business Manager of Panattoni Europe for the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
