UPS lays cornerstone for reloading centre in Stryków

Panattoni Europe, the leading industrial space developer, informs that UPS has symbolically inaugurated the construction of its new reloading centre and UPS hub in Stryków. The official cornerstone laying ceremony was attended by representatives of the investor, local authorities and Panattoni Europe, which is responsible for the execution of this project for UPS. It is anticipated that the facility in Stryków, totalling nearly 13 thousand sqm, will be opened in the first half of 2015.

- This cornerstone ceremony marks a breakthrough in the 22-year history of UPS in Poland. It reflects the strong development of our logistics network. - said Piotr Sitarek, General Director, UPS Poland . - We continue to see big growth potential in this country. Importantly, once the project is completed, we will be able to provide an even better service to our Polish customers, connecting them to worldwide markets - added Piotr Sitarek.

The new facility in Stryków, which at the same time is the largest project of its kind in the company's history to be undertaken in Central & Eastern Europe, will combine the functionality of a reloading centre and a distribution hub for shipments of various sizes, so as to meet the growing demand from the market on a regular basis. It will total nearly 13 thousand sqm of space, which is equivalent to two full-size football pitches. The complex will be equipped with cutting-edge technology, making it possible to sort 15 thousand parcels per hour.
