The opening of the new BSH factory in Rudna Wielka, near Rzeszów, is one of the largest industrial investments in the Podkarpacie region in recent months. The 73,000 sqm facility, developed by Panattoni, confirms the Rzeszów County’s growing position as an attractive location for modern industry and logistics.
The BSH plant, which opened in June, is an investment with a total value of 600 million zlotys, which will create 1,000 jobs. The facility will be used to manufacture Bosch cordless vacuum cleaners, including the flagship Unlimited 10 model, bagless and washing machines, and Tassimo capsule coffee machines. Next year, production will be expanded to include a new platform of Siemens automatic espresso machines.
Attracting such an investment to the region is no coincidence. It is the result of many years of efforts to develop infrastructure, prepare investment sites and build a business-friendly environment.
„Our task is to create conditions conducive to investment. This means developing road and technical infrastructure, preparing sites for economic activity and ensuring the efficient handling of administrative processes. “We are delighted that more and more companies are recognising the potential of the Rzeszów County and linking their long-term development plans to it. The benefits of these investments are felt first and foremost by local residents, who gain new jobs and opportunities for professional development,” says Krzysztof Jarosz, County Governor of Rzeszów.
From a single investment to an ecosystem
The BSH factory is not the only example of the region’s development. In recent years, the county has attracted a number of projects representing various sectors of the economy – from industrial manufacturing, through the automotive sector, to logistics and e-commerce.
A significant proportion of these investments have been carried out by Panattoni, which has already delivered 340,000 sqm of modern industrial and logistics space in the Rzeszów County. In the northern part of the conurbation, Panattoni Park Rzeszów North was developed for the LPP Group. The Panattoni Park Rzeszów North II project is also under development, with space already let to logistics operators and a company from the automotive sector. In the west of the region, Panattoni Park Rzeszów West I is operational, with Bosch among its tenants, whilst Panattoni Park Rzeszów West II is currently being planned. Meanwhile, in the vicinity of Jasionka Airport, modern facilities are in operation, used by BorgWarner and InPost.
Although these developments vary in scale and business profile, together they form a modern industrial and logistics ecosystem.
„Just a few years ago, the Podkarpacie region was seen primarily as a regional market. Today, it is increasingly being chosen by companies operating on a European scale. We see this both in the case of new investors and in companies which, after years of presence here, are deciding to take the next steps in developing their operations,” says Michał Samborski, Head of Development at Panattoni.
Cooperation is the foundation
Industrial property experts point out that a region’s investment appeal is no longer determined solely by the availability of land or its location along major transport routes. The preparation of investment sites, the quality of technical infrastructure and the efficiency of administrative processes are also becoming increasingly important.
The Rzeszów County benefits from a combination of many strengths. The A4 motorway and the S19 expressway, which form the international Via Carpatia corridor, run through the area. The region also has rail links, the expanding Rzeszów–Jasionka Airport and access to a skilled workforce trained at universities and technical colleges. Good cooperation between local authorities and investors also plays a significant role.
„Today, investors expect not only a good location, but also predictability and partnership. The efficient preparation of investment sites, good communication and a willingness to work together to tackle challenges arising at various stages of a project are all important. The Rzeszów County has been building such an environment for years, which is reflected in the successive investments being carried out here,” emphasises Michał Samborski.
As Krzysztof Jarosz points out, the region’s economic development is the result of consistent efforts carried out jointly by local authorities, entrepreneurs and business support organisations.
„We want the Rzeszów County to remain an attractive place for both investors and residents. That is why we are consistently investing in infrastructure, developing areas for economic activity and creating the conditions for further projects that will strengthen the local economy and labour market,” concludes Krzysztof Jarosz.
