Panattoni expands BTS team – Piotr Merta as the new Business Development Senior Manager

Panattoni Europe, Poland’s leader in industrial real estate, has expanded the team of BTS Group, dedicated to the execution of build-to-suit manufacturing facilities. Their ranks have been joined by Piotr Merta. He takes the position of Business Development Senior Manager to assume responsibility for acquiring and handling new manufacturing projects (including warehousing) as well as aligning Panattoni Europe’s services with the requirements of potential clients.

Piotr Merta previously worked as the Head of the Investor Relations Bureau at the Opole City Hall, where he was responsible for business promotion of the City both nationwide and abroad, for the sale and promotion of investment land, and also for liaising with investors and leading investment projects ─ including those in the commercial real estate sector ─ at each stage of development. Piotr Merta is a graduate of the Opole University of Technology, Faculty of Economics and Management, majoring in European Studies, and also holds a Masters degree from the University of Highlands and Islands Inverness College, UK.

At Panattoni Europe, Piotr Merta will be responsible for acquiring and handling new build-to-suit warehousing and manufacturing projects and for aligning the developer’s services with the requirements of potential clients. Marek Foryński, Managing Director of BTS Grup at Panattoni Europe comments: “The choice of Piotr Merta was not random – we had an opportunity to work together during the development of the factory for Polaris Industries. His professional experience, engagement and comprehensive education give him a strong edge in his new role in our structures. His tasks will include: building and maintaining business relations with Panattoni Europe’s new and regular clients, and most importantly, getting to know the clients’ needs so as to optimise our investment projects involving custom-tailored facilities.”

Panattoni Europe is part of the Panattoni Development Company, one of the largest industrial developers in the world, with 26 offices in North America and Europe. Panattoni has been present in Central Europe since 2005. To date, the developer has delivered more than 4,3 million sqm of modern industrial space altogether in Poland, the Czech Republic and Germany. In Poland, it was the first ─ and to date one of the few developers ─ to recognise the need for BTS manufacturing facilities built in locations identified by clients and tailored to the needs of their business operations. Panattoni Europe initiated this type of investment projects, particularly those located within special economic zones. Today, the developer can boast successfully completed BTS investments for such clients as: Manuli, Pilkington, Faurecia, Sanden Manufacturing, Skamol A/S and IFA Rotorion.
