Panattoni Europe wins Prime Property Prize 2015

Panattoni Europe, industrial property market leader, has won the Prime Property Prize 2015 for Investment Project of the Year: Logistics and Warehouse Space Market with its BTS Amazon project in Sady near Poznań. Additionally, Robert Dobrzycki was named Man of the Year in this year's edition of the competition. The winners were announced during a gala ceremony accompanying the Property Forum 2015, on 28 September 2015 in Warsaw's Vitkac department store.

The BTS Amazon project, developed by Panattoni Europe in Sady near Poznań, was recognised in the competition Prime Property Prize 2015, organised by Propertynews.pl. The facility was chosen from among five nominees in the categoryInvestment Project of the Year: Logistics and Warehouse Space Market. The prize was awarded for the project's quality, timely execution, innovative solutions, architecture, as well as its impact on the environment and economy of the region. The award ceremony took place on 28 September at Warsaw's Vitkac Department Store during the gala on the first day of the Property Forum 2015, a conference devoted to the commercial property market.

Panattoni Europe's project for Amazon is not only one of the largest in the country, but also one of the first two investments in Poland of this scale (123,000 sqm) to achieve BREEAM VERY GOOD rating. Certification was awarded for the thorough execution of the project and the intelligent building management system. The total usable area of 123,000 sqm comprises 91,837 sqm of warehouse space and 23,000 sqm on the mezzanine. The facility features 2,154 car parking spaces, 97 truck spaces, 32 handicapped spaces, 16 motorcycle spaces, and 60 reloading docks. The construction of the facility was accompanied by building a dumbbell interchange with two roundabouts and cross streets, entry and exit ramps on the road DK92. This part of the investment project was worth PLN 19 million and more than 257 tons of steel were used in its construction.

Robert Dobrzycki ─ Chief Executive Officer Europe, Panattoni Europe, made no secret of his satisfaction with the prize, thanking Amazon for giving his firm an opportunity to develop as many as two logistics centres in Poland, and also pointed to the broader aspects of these investments: " Amazon's interest in Poland, the Wrocław and Poznań region, was a breakthrough for the e-commerce business as well as the warehouse and logistics business in Poland and showed that the Polish market is ready for receiving the global e-commerce leader".

Panattoni Europe celebrates its 10-year anniversary in the Europe. Since 2005, the developer has delivered 3.2 million of modern space, including as much as 2.5 million in Poland - more than any other developer active in the domestic market. It would have been impossible without tenants - as many as 260 companies leased or commissioned Panattoni to build their own facilities, both warehouse and production-oriented. Panattoni Europe has sparked a trend for building BTS facilities, notably in Special Economic Zones, and has also opened up the capital market to warehouse space. The firm has built 141 facilities throughout Europe and closed record-breaking transactions: in Poland - the construction of two BTS facilities for Amazon.com totalling 246,000 sqm; in the Czech Republic - 123,000 sqm in a BTS facility also for Amazon; and in Germany - delivering 121,426 sqm to Jago. These achievements did not go unnoticed by the jury of the Prime Property Prize 2015, which awarded Robert Dobrzycki, who had opened the Central European office 10 years ago, the prestigious title of Man of the Year.

PRIME PROPERTY PRIZE 2015 is the fourth edition of the competition, which is part of the Property Forum, organised by the recognised industry service, Propertynews.pl. The objective of the competition is to identify businesses and projects which had had the biggest impact on what went on in the commercial property market over the past year, as well as personalities whose spectacular achievements played a key role in the development of the industry as a whole. The prizes are awarded based on the votes by readers of Propertynews.pl and recommendations from the Prize Experts' Forum.
