Panattoni Europe, Poland's leader in the industrial property market, has embarked on the construction of a 13,966-square-metre distribution centre for one of the top global freight forwarders. The new facility is being developed in Stryków.
Thanks to Panattoni Europe's experience in development projects for courier companies, construction works have just started on a project for one of the top global freight forwarders. The centre will be built on a site in Stryków comprising more than 12 ha and will offer 13,966 sqm - with a warehouse of 11,782 sqm and 2,184 sqm of office space.
Panattoni Europe's new facility will be adapted to the needs of freight forwarding, i.e. transport and reloading operations. To this end, it will feature a cross-docking platform, and an above-standard number of docks and smaller gates for loading and unloading. Quoting Marek Dobrzycki, Panattoni Europe: "Panattoni Europe's experience in development projects for courier businesses shows that issues of crucial importance for those companies include solutions that enable simultaneous reloading of goods, as well as an excellent location and access to the relevant infrastructure, all of which are guaranteed by the upcoming facility in Stryków".
The facility is being built in Stryków, one of the top locations for investments dedicated to the courier sector. The close proximity of Łódź and major transportation routes - motorway junction on the A2 (Stryków II), and the road no 71 (Zgierz-Stryków) near the national road no 14 (Warsaw-Łódź) - all mean that the new warehouse will not only enjoy excellent connections with the rest of the country, but also benefit from the local labour pool.
At present, Panattoni Europe is developing the largest quantity of new warehouse space in the market, totalling 374,000 sqm. Apart from the facilities for Amazon, this figure is comprised of such investments as the recently established Panattoni Park Sosnowiec, or Panattoni Park Poznań III and IV, as well as a new facility at Panattoni Park Łódź East. The developer also tops the podium in terms of performance for H1 2014 - the company delivered 108,000 sqm to the market (incl. 50,000 sqm for Castorama Polska and 33,600 sqm for Polaris), that is more than twice as much as the runner-up, and also had the highest number of square metres under construction, with as much as 34,900 sqm.
