The warehouse, with a total area of 69,000 sqm and the capacity to store up to 7 million items, has been equipped with automation systems, ensuring the handling of up to 100,000 orders per day. The new facility meets the requirements of BREEAM certification at the Excellent level, thus guaranteeing comfort of use and efficiency while taking into account solutions supporting sustainable environmental protection.
The new warehouse in the Podkarpacie region, with an area of 69,000 sqm, has joined the distribution network managed by LPP Logistics, which, together with the facility in Jasionka, already includes eight locations with a total area of over 450,000 sqm. These include distribution centres in Pruszcz Gdański, Brześć Kujawski and Gdańsk, as well as five warehouses handling online sales in Poland and abroad. For the Gdansk-based apparel company serviced by LPP Logistics, the new facility is an important step towards streamlining the distribution of e-commerce orders both domestically and for customers from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary, Ukraine and the Baltic States.
- From the perspective of the new logistics company, the opening of the Fulfillment Centre in Jasionka near Rzeszów is a vital step in the development and expansion of our operational capacity. We are pleased that, despite the strenuous geopolitical situation, the facility was delivered on schedule and is fully adapted to our needs. Thanks to the commitment of our partners and our team, after many months of hard work, consultations and creating optimal solutions, we can say that we have achieved success," emphasises Kamil Kawałek, Logistics Network Development Manager at LPP Logistics.
The innovative solution that LPP Logistics has relied on at FC Podkarpacie is an advanced technology supporting parcel dispatch operations to the customer. The applied technology of as many as 7 integrated, automatic belt lines of packing stations with a dispatch sorter not only influences the efficient fulfilment of orders, but also makes them easier to handle. In the newly opened warehouse, the decision was made to use a sorting solution of the type found in large courier sorting centres. A cross-belt sorter will enable the transport and sorting of parcels by region, country or courier company at a speed of more than 5,000 parcels per hour. High-quality vision systems, in turn, allow for very high accuracy in the sorting operations of parcels moving on the line at a speed of as much as 1.6 m/s.
- The new investment will allow us to handle online orders even more efficiently. Located in southern Poland, FC is the perfect so-called 'centre of gravity' for us to handle the growing volumes of online orders both in Poland and in neighbouring countries. The facility in the Podkarpacie region is the largest Fulfillment Centre in our network to date, which, with simultaneous storage of up to 7 million items, will allow us to present our customers with a very wide range of assortments in our online shops. We have implemented new automation solutions in the facility, guaranteeing the speed of the shipment process and the smooth handling of e-commerce orders. This will streamline warehouse operations, shorten delivery times, and increase the efficiency of our daily cooperation with couriers. Ultimately, this translates into convenient shopping and customer satisfaction, which we are able to serve efficiently even during major peaks such as Black Friday or seasonal and holiday sales,' assures Sebastian Sołtys, Vice-President of LPP Logistics.
The FC Podkarpacie building meets the requirements for BREEAM certification at the Excellent level. The investment's total area of 69,000 sqm has been surrounded by flower meadows and plantings of trees and shrubs, and the warehouse spaces have 30 per cent access to natural light. The building also uses specialised systems to reduce the facility's water consumption by a minimum of 65 per cent. The choice of location and the solutions used not only reduce the impact of the facility on the environment, including an additional reduction in CO2 emissions. The impact on the wellbeing and health of the building's users was taken into account right from the design stage. The lighting, heating, air-conditioning and ventilation systems have been optimised to ensure the comfort of employees. Also with this in mind, a number of amenities have been introduced to the site, including two bus lines running directly to the warehouse.
As in the case of the other warehouse facility locations, since the beginning of the year the LPP Group has implemented a local social support programme in cooperation with the Trzebownisko Municipality, which consists of organising joint initiatives for the benefit of its youngest residents. Together with the local authorities, the group supports education by funding school starter kits for first graders, scholarships for the most talented students and organising extracurricular English classes.
LPP Logistics also plans to conduct research and development activities as part of its new investment. The concept is for logistics and IT specialists to create volume predictions, conduct research, develop and manage advanced robotics-supported systems to help face the challenges posed by an omnichannel sales strategy.
The investment was developed by Panattoni - the market leader in industrial real estate in Europe. The developer has already delivered facilities totalling 170,000 sqm for LPP in Poland. - Two fulfillment centres opened within 4 months are a significant support for our business partner - LPP Group. It is a fantastic feeling to have such a clear contribution to the development of a Polish brand. Once again, in challenging times, we have proved that we are a guarantor of stability by delivering a strategic, technologically advanced facility with a vast area, perfectly matching the customer's expectations - says Marek Dobrzycki, Managing Director at Panattoni and adds
- The opening of the fulfillment center is also excellent news for Rzeszów and the entire Podkarpacie region. The international scope of the investment confirms the enormous potential of this location, which will attract further operators in the future.
