Polish businessman, investor and philanthropist, Robert Dobrzycki, has set up a new charity. It was createdout of the belief that people are unlimited in their potential and helping them is an investment in the future. The mission of the Robert Dobrzycki Foundation is to help shape the development of society and promote Poland and Polish business on the world stage.
The foundation has a broad range of operations being involved in education culture and art, while investing in science, healthcare and sport as well as environmental protection and the promotion of Poland.
“I have been involved with charities for many years. I help because I enjoy it. It gives me immense satisfaction. For me, by founding a charity I have created an umbrella for many of my charitable activities and opened up a new exciting beginning for many projects in this field. I am helping because I know that this is a better future for us all. By joining the forces of business and the third sector together, we can change the world for the better by thinking through our actions, developing innovative projects, supporting talent and reaching out to those most in need,” says Polish businessman, investor and philanthropist Robert Dobrzycki, the man who conceived of and founded the charity. As the CEO and co-owner of Panattoni Europe, UK, Middle East and India, he is responsible for the company’s operations in 17 countries. As well as growing the business, he is equally concerned with his responsibilities to society. For many years he has personally supported numerous charitable projects and has been investing in talent. He promotes sport, business education and philanthropy and he is an active ambassador of Polish business on the international stage.
The newly created foundation is to support projects that already exist as well as set up its own. Currently work is underway on the first Hummingbird programme, which is to financially support outstanding individuals working in the fields of healthcare, energy, economics, law, social programmes, art, ESG and sport. The foundation’s logo is also a hummingbird as it is a symbol of going beyond limitations and reaching out for the impossible. It represents new possibilities, future achievements, and advanced technology. Moreover, it has a message for us all, which is that life is joy.
The next project of the Foundation is a collaboration with the Museum of Contemporary Art. With the charity’s support, a large painting entitled ‘Jars 2024’ by Karolina Jabłońska, a painter from the younger generation, is to be on permanent display in the Museum’s new building.
Karolina Jabłońska (born in 1991) is an award-winning artist of the younger generation from Kraków. She paints portraits of women in seemingly mundane situations. They reflect the artist’s internal disquiet, which is a reaction to the politicised reality that surrounds us, particularly addressing the challenges faced by contemporary women. Jabłońska’s art is a lively expression of colour that draws in the viewer. Her pictures refer to the works of Henri Rousseau, Edvard Munch and Paul Gauguin.
The painting will be composed of four 250 cm x 190 cm panels to create a tetraptych of 250 cm x 760 cm. It is to be composed in such a way that it can be displayed with each panel forming a corner or in a single line.
‘Jars 2024’ will in a visual layer refer to the latest work of Jabłońska, the dominant motifs of which are the kitchen, cooking, jams and pickles. Simple associations and foods that we all know are a lure for the public but underneath the everyday scenes hide sociological metaphors, camouflaged front page news and the artist’s own musings.
This work is certain to become a strong symbol and a recognisable artistic work for the city’s public space with the opening to all of the Contemporary Art Museum in Warsaw from October 2024.
The foundation also invites submissions for funding and or other collaborative projects that fit with its values and mission. More information can be found at www.rdfoundation.org as well as on the foundation’s social media channels:
