The facility has 4 floors and can accommodate 30 million products handled by 3,000 transport robots. The project was built in 14 months in accordance with the principles of sustainable development and a photovoltaic system was installed on its roof. The development won the Prime Property Prize 2021 in the category "Investment of the Year - Logistics and Warehouse Space Market".

It is Amazon's ninth investment in Poland developed by Panattoni and (over one million square metres of delivered space overall). The volume of the facility amounted to over 1.1 million cubic metres, which accommodate up to 30 million products. The Świebodzin-based investment is the third facility of the world e-commerce leader in Poland equipped with Amazon Robotics technology. There are as many as 3,000 robots working on the site, which will significantly improve the picking and storage process. The developer took care to prepare a perfectly smooth floor which is required for this degree of automation.

In the Świebodzin project, Panattoni and Amazon opted for sustainable development and sustainable transport. The developer installed photovoltaic systems and also provided increased daylight in the facility. In addition, both companies took care to optimise traffic in the area by providing special, extended exits to the investment, which will avoid traffic jams on the exit road to Krosno. The companies have also funded the construction of a roundabout near the site and are planning another exit leading straight to the S3 expressway junction. The companies also focused on promoting public transport. As part of the investment, 50 bus spaces have been prepared along with bus stops, and carsharing has been put in place.

Users of the Świebodzin facility are benefiting from nearly 800 parking spaces, 10 percent of which are for electric cars and more than 5 percent for the disabled. In addition, there is a special area on the site for vehicles with swap bodies. The project is also equipped with 58 lorry docks and 28 km of conveyor belts. The project used 43,000 m³ of concrete, 196 columns, 500 beams and 6,350-floor slabs. The construction process was carried out in accordance with sanitary and epidemiological recommendations, and during the process, more than 11,000 thousand tests for Covid-19 were carried out.

Amazon's facility is only about an hour's drive from the German border which will allow it to efficiently serve both our western neighbour's market and the whole of western Europe. Thanks to the S3 expressway running in the vicinity, both the southern border and the port of Szczecin-Świnoujście can be reached easily. The facility is also approx. 20 minutes from the A2 motorway which connects the most important centres of Central and Eastern Europe: Berlin, Łódź and Warsaw, and also allows you to reach the airport in Poznań in around 60 minutes. Even closer is the airport in Zielona Góra which is approximately 30 minutes from the Świebodzin facility.

The projects delivered by Panattoni for Amazon are not only record-breaking in terms of space but also modern and ecological. Last year alone, Panattoni obtained BREEAM certification at the Very Good level for two such investments. The 60,000 sq m facility in Bolesławiec received the maximum score for water systems. Another was the BTS in Gliwice, Amazon's largest building in Poland, which was particularly praised for its energy and water systems as well as its ecology and landscaping. The Silesian giant was also recognised in last year's edition of CIJ magazine's HOF Awards as the best warehouse development in Central and Eastern Europe. The infrastructure for 3,900 robots was prepared in the facility, and an intelligent building management system (BMS) was implemented.

Amazon's next large-scale project responds to the rapidly growing e-commerce market. Marek Dobrzycki

"In many countries in the western part of the continent, 8 out of 10 and in some even 9 out of 10 internet users shop online. The largest market, Germany, grew by 14.6 percent in 2020. This drives further investment and Poland, thanks to its location, is becoming an excellent e-commerce hub for the entire continent"
