Panattoni builds high-end build-to-suit warehouse of more than 26,000 m2 for Radial in Groningen

Radial is renting a build-to-suit distribution center of over 26,000 m2 at the Westpoort business park in Groningen, directly visible from the A7 highway. The warehouse is developed by Panattoni Netherlands. Construction started early this year and completion is scheduled for September 2022.

The warehouse can be divided into two approximately equal units, each with its own office component and mezzanine. In addition, the warehouse is equipped with LED lighting, a clear height of 12.20 meters, solar panels and the building are completely gas-free. The high-quality design that Radial has in mind shows many sustainability aspects and significant landscaping in the forecourt. The project will of course be delivered in accordance with the BREEAM Very Good standard.

Radial is an E-commerce company, part of the Belgian bpost and from this new-build location, Radial will serve its national and international customers. A large part of all employees live in the city of Groningen and they will be able to cycle to work in about 20 minutes.

The municipality places high demands on the appearance of the buildings and it wishes to see the green ambitions of the municipality translated into the designs of the buildings in the region. We have translated these ambitions into the current design. For example, the architecture is challenging with beautifully varied materialization and a lot of attention has been paid to the green plan on the plot around the building.”
