With a quick and decisive start on the Swedish market, Panattoni has established itself as a heavy player with several different projects, mostly in central Sweden. An agreement has now been signed with Södervidden Fastigheter, resulting in a large project in Åstorp outside Helsingborg in southern Sweden. Logistics and industrial properties totaling 46,000 m2 will be built here, with excellent accessibility to the E4 and E6 routes.
– Our plan from the start has been to offer logistics properties within the so-called golden triangle, between Stockholm, Gothenburg and Skåne. With its connection to Copenhagen and continental Europe, the Helsingborg region is a very important logistics location. At the same time, logistics and industrial properties are in short supply in southern Sweden. With the property in Åstorp and its excellent location, we are now taking the next step in establishing Panattoni in southern Sweden. Here, we will soon be able to offer tenants completely new and flexible warehouses upwards of 5,000 m2, says Fredrik Jagersjö Rosell, CEO of Panattoni Sweden.
The project is the result of good collaboration with Söderviddens Fastigheter and Åstorp Municipality. Rudolf Tornerhjelm, who is the owner and board chair of Södervidden, feels happy about the many new job opportunities that the project will bring to the area. His family has been active in forestry and agriculture in Åstorp for generations.
– That we are now starting the project will mean a lot of new job opportunities for the residents of Åstorp, both during construction and when the tenants have moved in. It’s a very good feeling, says Rudolf Tornerhjelm.
Construction is planned to start in June 2023 and in September 2024 it is estimated that the tenants will move in. The chosen contractor for the project is MVB, one of Sweden's largest family-owned construction companies. They have extensive experience in building large, complex projects at a high pace.
– We look forward to developing modern industrial spaces for logistics together with Panattoni, meeting high demands on sustainability and achieving environmental certification according to Breeam Excellent, which is in line with both Panattoni's and MVB's work on sustainability, says Thomas Ellkvist, CEO at MVB South.
