BTS for Action

In 2021, we completed a 60,000 sq m distribution centre in Bieruń, of which 58,200 sq m was dedicated to warehousing and 2,500 sq m was taken up by offices and staff rooms. The rapid growth of the Action chain required additional facilities. The project was completed in a record time of 7 months - we started construction in February 2021 and by the end of September the building was ready.

It was designed to maximise the use of space and adapt it to the client's specific requirements. Tailor-made solutions include.

• a reinforced concrete mezzanine floor
• an ADR storage area
• two separate hazardous materials storage areas with a dedicated delivery zone
• a battery charging area for 108 pallet trucks equipped with an overhead crane
• a press container dedicated to film recovery
• a special press room for recovered cardboard boxes

We have also met Action's high sustainability requirements. The facility has BREEAM certification at the Excellent level. Obtaining 77.1 per cent in BREEAM scores was a long-standing record in the category of industrial facilities in Poland. This is primarily due to the materials used, the use of photovoltaic panels, water savings (including retention and infiltration) or 100% waste recycling.

In mid-June 2023, we celebrated the opening of a 53 000 sq m facility in Zakroczym, of which 50 000 sq m is warehouse space capable of holding 47 000 pallets. Nearly 3 000 sq m, on the other hand, is occupied by offices and social areas. The Zakroczym Distribution Centre will serve up to 160 shops in Poland. In the long term, it will create 300 jobs.

The project has been developed with a particular focus on environmental protection. We opted for a combination of functionality and sustainability and included as many environmentally friendly elements as possible - from the solutions and construction elements to the installed equipment and materials used. The Centre's water, energy and waste management is sustainable. The building uses energy efficiency solutions such as solar panels to heat water, photovoltaic panels to generate electricity, smart energy and water meters, energy-efficient LED lighting inside and outside the building and charging stations for electric cars. The development will pass BREEAM environmental certification at the Excellent level. Construction took 11 months to complete.
