Noerpel Logistics Group to expand with Panattoni in Elsdorf
- Logistics facility with total area of approx. 43,000 m²
- Completion scheduled for November 2017
The C.E. Noerpel GmbH company, which has its main office in Ulm, will move into a new logistics facility in Elsdorf, a municipality in the district of Rotenburg (Wümme) in Lower Saxony, in November 2017. The site has an area of approx. 100,000 m² and very good traffic connections. It is located directly beside the A1 motorway, adjacent to the motorway exit, and is quickly accessible without having to pass through any traffic lights.
The facility has been designed by Panattoni Europe, a leading developer of industrial and logistics real estate. The new building is being constructed in the street Auf der Brooke and will have approx. 41,656 m² warehousing space, 978 m² office and social space as well as 516 m² mezzanine space. The project was brokered by BNP Paribas Real Estate, Hamburg.
With a clearance height of 12.20 m up to the lower edge of the tie beam, the entire facility will be built in compliance with the latest environmental and sustainability standards. Panattoni is aiming to win the DGNB gold award for the building. [DGNB: Deutsche Gesellschaft für Nachhaltiges Bauen – DGNB e.V., (German Sustainable Building Council)].
The internationally operating transport and logistics service provider Noerpel will use the facility for warehousing and distribution services for a petroleum company and other clients in the consumer goods sector. For its logistics services the company will employ mainly qualified staff from the local region. Stefan Noerpel-Schneider, the owner of Noerpel, comments on this new business settlement: “In Elsdorf we have the ideal conditions which will enable us to fulfil the requirements of our clients. With Panattoni, we have a reliable and experienced partner as developer of this project who not only understands our business but is also able to act fast and flexibly so that our tight timescale can be achieved.”
The earthworks for the project commenced in late March 2017. The project has to be ready for occupancy in November 2017, and therefore the time schedule of about eight months to completion is very tight.
Fred-Markus Bohne, Managing Partner of Panattoni Europe, explains: “Due to the short timeline for this project, the planning for the new building for Noerpel in Elsdorf has to be very precise and exactly co-ordinated with all those involved. At the same time, the building has some special features on which extra attention will have to be focussed. Like all our other projects, this one will be implemented in compliance with our high quality standards to create a sustainable building for our client.”
